Shonto Prep School, located in Shonto, Arizona, USA is predominantly for Native American children. The school believes that it is "important to utilize the Navajo culture and language as a foundation to build a bridge to life long learning".
Veteran art teacher Mary Anne Crowley introduced our ArtLink to Shonto in this the first year of their middle school art program. What a great beginning! When representatives from the Library of Congress and Salt River Project came to Shonto, they LOVED the drawings that were made for "Traditions. Where I Come" and asked to put the art up at the SRP Phoenix office and at the Navajo Generating Plant.
We are delighted to highlight 8 of their pieces here.
