Artlink - An Interdisciplinary program designed for 3rd -12th grade art and language arts classes.
Students create art projects designed to reflect their life and culture which are exchanged with a partner class in a different country. They examine and enjoy the art from their partners, gaining a new perspectives into their culture.
ArtLink is an adventure in cross-cultural discovery, a way for students to expand beyond their locality to feel their inclusion in a global community. They discover that art is a surprisingly effective and satisfying medium for expressing and sharing their ideas with new international friends.
By participating in ArtLink, your students will learn to:
- Be introspective about their culture and their place in it.
- Communicate key aspects of their culture using art.
- Understand through their partner’s art the realities that exist in their partner’s world.
- Appreciate the cultures of students participating from all countries in the ArtLink program.
- Become global citizens by participating along with a global community of students.
