Our Staff

Alan Steckler

Alan Steckler, the Executive Director and CC founder, taught in elementary and secondary schools, both in the U.S. and in England.  He serves on the board of CORO, an international leadership organization, and has conducted an “English as a Second Language” class for adult students with Literacy Volunteers for a number of years.  Receiving a BA degree from Principia College, Alan did graduate work at the Bank Street College of Education, and earned an MA in Educational Theater from New York University.

Sudha Sankar

Sudha Sankar, CC Program Director, has served in that role for six years, and has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, concentrating on program development, organization building, and event management.  Sudha has also been widely involved with local community-based projects, particularly advocating for younger, “at-risk” women and empowering their future development.  Sudha received a BA (economics) and MBA from the University of Madras (India), and a MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

Miguel Barreto

Miguel Barreto, Operations Manager and Interactive Designer, has been with CC since 2004. Miguel has over ten years of experience working with environmental and multicultural related non-profit organizations, both in the U.S. and abroad. He holds a BA in Industrial Design from Pontific University Javeriana in Colombia, a certificate in social and environmental conflict management from the University of Peace (UN) in Costa Rica, And a Master of Science in Internet Business Systems from Mercy College, Dobbs Ferry, NY. He lives with his family in Bethel, CT a place he enjoys specially when riding his bicycle.

Melissa Thomson

Melissa Thomson, CC Development Director, has worked with non-profit organizations as an attorney, board member and volunteer. As an attorney practicing in Washington, DC, she represented a variety of non-profit and grand-funded organizations. Locally, she has served on the boards of Kids in Crisis (Greenwich, CT), buildOn (Stamdford, CT), Graham-Windham (New York, NY), and King Low Heywood Thomas School (Stamford, CT). Her philanthropic activities have also involved volunteer work in Mali, W. Africa and Haiti. Melissa is a graduate of Davidson College and received her JD from the College of William and Mary.

Michelle Cebo

Michelle Cebo A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY, where she majored in Communications Design, Michelle was asked to join CC in 2008 as Program Assistant for ArtLink. Her artistic talent allows her to work as a freelance illustrator. She lives in Norwalk with her roommate and her English Bulldog named Georgia.

Marvin Moss

Marven Moss, the publicist for Creative Connections, has been active in media and public relations/communications for more than half a century. His background covers staff positions with The New York Times and the Canadian affiliate of The Associated Press in his native Canada. He is the editor of “WordWatch: A Guide to Linguistic Distinctions” and a winner of nine national writing awards.
